Police swoop on Bristol street after 'aggressive man enters mosque' View Image
Police attended a disturbance at a mosque near Bristol city centre this afternoon (Wednesday, December 10).
Avon and Somerset Police were called to the religious centre in Wade Street, St Judes , just after 4pm.
Officers were told that a man had entered a mosque and was behaving aggressively.
A suspect was detained by officers and arrested on suspicion of assault.
The arrest was made at around 4.15pm and the man remains in police custody at the time of writing.
A witness told BristolLive that they saw six police vehicles outside the Al-Baseera Bristol Centre on Wade Street, which is just beyond the Houlton Street entrance to Cabot Circus car park.
