Chattanooga’s Lynnbrook Park is receiving statewide recognition after transforming a once flood-prone lot into a thriving, environmentally focused community space.
Located in East Chattanooga’s Oak Grove neighborhood, the 1.4-acre site was previously an empty lot known for drainage issues. Today, it’s a fully restored green space — and now, an award-winning one.
Stephen Hopper with Stantec Architecture says the project recently received the Grand Award in the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Tennessee competition, in the “Stormwater and Sanitary” category.
“We entered this project into the Tennessee ACEC Professional Engineers award category for storm water and sanitary, and what we came back with is we got the Grand Award in that category,” Hopper said.
