The upstart Phoenix Suns have been surprisingly competent in the early stages of this NBA season. At the time of this writing, they're the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and can boast some impressive wins over the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves (twice), and Los Angeles Lakers.
Unfortunately for the Suns, it sounds like they might have to continue their momentum in Wednesday night's NBA Cup Quarterfinals game against the Oklahoma City Thunder without their best player.
Star shooting guard Devin Booker is officially listed as questionable for the matchup with a groin injury. Booker has missed each of the Suns' last two games with the injury, which he suffered on December 1st. Per The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin, Booker missed Wednesday's shootaround when it opened to the media, which he apparently usually participates in when he's playing on any given night.
While not a good sign for Booker's status against the Thunder, that, however, doesn't mean he definitely won't play:
It was already going to be tough sledding for the Suns against the Thunder with Booker. If they are indeed without the star guard on Wednesday night, we'll see how they fare without him.
