RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Senators will vote Thursday on two competing bills related to the Affordable Care Act as funds are set to expire in three weeks, potentially causing health care costs for millions of Americans to increase significantly.
The senate was already scheduled to vote on a Democratic plan to extend the expiring funds for three more years, but Republicans have now introduced their own proposal as an alternative.
There are two proposals before the Senate.
The Democratic bill would extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits for three more years. The GOP alternative would allow the ACA credits to expire but approve new funds for health savings accounts.
