1Stamford man found dead in home was murdered, police say
Stamford, CT – A man found dead inside a Stamford residence earlier this month was the victim of a homicide, authorities confirmed Wednesday following the release of autopsy results.
The body of Carmine Boccuzzi, 79, was discovered at a home on Oaklawn Avenue after Stamford Police responded to the scene and secured the residence for processing by the Connecticut State Police. Investigators initially withheld the identity of the deceased pending a DNA comparison with a family member.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner completed an autopsy and determined Boccuzzi died from “blunt impact injuries of the head and torso with gagging.” His death has been officially ruled a homicide.
