A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 11:33 p.m. for heavy snow until Thursday at 12:30 a.m. for Sullivan County.
"At 11:32 p.m., a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from near Equinunk to near Sweet Valley and moving southeast at 30 MPH," comments the weather service.
Locations impacted by the alert include Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Falls, Dunmore, Kingston, Nanticoke, Plains, Carbondale, Old Forge and Pittston.
The weather service comments, "Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
