The Toronto Blue Jays will unlikely be able to trade one of their disgruntled players this offseason.
After spending the past five seasons with the Blue Jays, it seems that two-time All-Star pitcher José Berríos may want to part ways with the team. Berríos suffered an injury that had held him out for most of the postseason. At the winter meetings on Monday, general manager Ross Atkins revealed that the 31-year-old's absence in the World Series was by his own choice, due to frustration with the team.
Berríos' frustrations stemmed from being left off the starting rotation in the World Series, and now, with Toronto signing Dylan Cease and reportedly coming to terms on a contract with Cody Ponce this offseason, the team boasts a surplus of talented starting pitchers.
