JetBlue Airways is opening its first airport lounge as the airline tries to navigate economic turbulence by attracting wealthier travelers.

The 9,000-square-foot BlueHouse lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City was unveiled by JetBlue on Thursday, Dec. 11. The two-story space in Terminal 5 will officially open at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18.

The lounge, which will have daily hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., comes as JetBlue continues a multi-year refresh of Terminal 5 by adding more than 40 new retailers, art installations, and other amenities.

"BlueHouse helps make our flagship terminal feel more like home," said JetBlue president Marty St. George. "It's warm, comfortable, and elevated in a way that's distinctly JetBlue, with the hospitality and thoughtful amenities our customers have been asking for. As our first lounge, it represents an exciting milestone in our JetForward journey as we focus on bringing affordable, premium experiences from the aircraft to the airport."

Mosaic 4 members, JetBlue Premier Cardmembers, and transatlantic Mint customers will get free access to BlueHouse. Each group can bring one guest for free, with additional guests costing $39.

In February 2026, JetBlue plans to sell limited access passes to Mosaic 1 through 3 members, JetBlue Plus and Business Cardmembers, non-transatlantic Mint customers, and annual BlueHouse members.

"BlueHouse is one of the most significant enhancements we've ever made to our loyalty program," said Ed Pouthier, JetBlue's vice president of loyalty and personalization. "Our Mosaic members and Premier Cardmembers already enjoy elevated benefits every time they fly, but BlueHouse introduces a new level of recognition for those who choose to fly us again and again."

Travelers can enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, quiet zones, and a game room stocked with cards, chess, checkers, and toys. A custom photo booth lets visitors take home a picture before boarding their flights.

BlueHouse's defining feature is its Art Deco design with brass details, decorative molding, a lobby-style entrance, and art curated by Statement Of.

"We wanted customers to feel like they’re stepping into a warm and stylish New York City apartment filled with character, where layers of JetBlue history and New York iconography can be discovered with every visit," said Stephanie Evans Greene, JetBlue's senior vice president of marketing and brand. "Just as New Yorkers bring their own personality into a new space, we infused the space with JetBlue's signature style to feel homey and comfortable when staying in our house."

A custom mural from Artists for Humanity shows JetBlue destinations in the style of Grand Central Terminal's iconic ceiling. BlueHouse also features favorite foods in the Big Apple, including bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches, beverages from Joe Coffee, and a bar with cocktails, wine, and beers from NYC spots The Greats of Craft and Please Don’t Tell.

BlueHouse comes as JetBlue adjusts its route network to focus on more profitable flights. The airline has been slashing weaker routes and adding long-range flights supported by strong demand for premium seating.

JetBlue said it also plans to open its next lounge inside Terminal C at Boston Logan International Airport in mid-2026.
