WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Wichita Police Department is advising content creators and other social media users to avoid damaging property during social media treasure hunts.
WPD said it has seen an increase in social media “cash” or “treasure” hunts that encourage people to search in public places.
Digging in City parks is prohibited under a city ordinance. When treasure hunters dig into turf, landscaping, flowerbeds, or disturb park features, it can cause damage to public property, while creating safety hazards, and may be considered defacing or vandalizing city parks. T
