WESTMINSTER, S.C. —

A Westminster, South Carolina, man has been arrested after authorities said he persuaded a teen to leave home without her parents' permission.

Jacob Miles Emerson, 26, was arrested early Wednesday morning in Clemson after he was found with the missing teen.

According to authorities, Emerson prevented the minor from attending school and persuaded the minor to leave her home without permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Emerson remains in jail Thursday on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The teen was returned to her parents.

Authorities said evidence showed Emerson and the teen were in a relationship.
