The Delaware Department of Transportation said a tractor trailer that became wedged under the railroad overpass on Beech Street led to a service disruption for Amtrak in and out of Wilmington on Thursday morning, December 11, 2025.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. with the rig getting stuck under the bridge that carries Amtrak trains in and out of the city.

The truck was eventually backed out from under the span around 11:30 a.m.
