SPRINGFIELD — A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Springfield last week has died, officials say.
The Hampden District Attorney’s Office identified Sylvia Gladden, a 58-year-old city resident as the victim of the crash. Springfield Police responded at around 6:20 p.m. on December 5 to the area near State and Federal streets after reports that a pedestrian had been hit, a statement from the DA’s Office said.
Janel Wedley, 27, the driver who allegedly fled the scene, is being charged with leaving the scene of personal injury resulting in death. She turned herself in on Monday, the statement said.
