Kamehameha Highway near Kuilima Drive on the North Shore has been closed in both directions due to downed utility poles and power lines resulting from a vehicle accident.

Police posted an alert about the closure at 10:30 a.m. and said all traffic is being turned around while Hawaiian Electric works to make repairs.

No serious injuries were immediately reported. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
