MADISON (WKOW) — The Department of Corrections (DOC) has placed three staff members on administrative leave following an incident involving Morgan Geyser.
This decision was outlined in a letter from DOC Secretary Jared Hoy to Sen. Eric Wimberger and Rep. Robert Wittke.
Hoy said Geyser's tamper alarm was triggered at 9:38 p.m. on November 22, but staff did not begin addressing it until 11:10 p.m. Five minutes later, they contacted the group home and confirmed Geyser was not there. Thirty minutes after that, an apprehension request was issued.
Hoy said the first contact with the Dane County Sheriff's Office was made at 7:44 a.m. on Nov. 23.
The monitoring center has five standard operating procedures for priority alerts. With the strap and tamper procedure, staff must reset the system be
