A 'lovely man' who tragically died after a devastating house fire in Bolton has been named and pictured. Emergency crews rushed to the scene of the blaze at a bungalow on Lorton Grove, in Breightmet, at around 3pm on Friday (December 5).

A pensioner was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital. However, police confirmed the following day that he had died from his injuries.

He has now been named and pictured for the first time as 78-year-old Michael Gallagher. Neighbours have since paid tribute, with flowers also laid outside his home, where he was remembered as a 'lovely man who would help anybody'.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson previously said enquiries were ongoing into the fire, but that there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. The
