SUFFOLK, Va. — A Suffolk man is accused of destroying more than a dozen Flock Safety license plate–reader cameras and stealing parts from the setups over six months, according to a criminal complaint filed in Suffolk General District Court.

The complaint states that between April 1 and Oct. 12 of this year, 13 Flock LPR cameras in the northern precinct area of Suffolk were “intentionally destroyed” and removed from their poles. Each setup, consisting of a two-piece mounting pole, solar panel, camera, and hardware, was valued at roughly $1,300.

Investigators wrote that all of the cameras were taken down by separating the two-piece mounting poles, and tools were used to remove the equipment.
