CLAXTON, Tenn. — The Claxton community is reeling after the Kids Palace park was torn down last week.

"It's been very emotional, like I said, the one sentence I can use to sum this up is it was so much more than a park," Chad McNabb, Anderson County Commissioner for District 1, said. "It was such a part of the landscape, along with bull run steam plant, that now that it's gone, you drive by and it just feels like something is missing".

The park was torn down after the Anderson County Conservation Board agreed to give the land back to the Tennessee Valley Authority.
