Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday informed the Karnataka High Court that no material exists to connect him to the publication or social media posts that the State BJP claims are defamatory.
The court was hearing Gandhi’s petition seeking quashing of criminal defamation proceedings initiated over the Congress party’s “Corruption Rate Card” advertisement and related tweets. The advertisement alleged that posts and transfers during the previous BJP government carried fixed “rates” and “commissions”. The BJP has called the claims baseless, defamatory, and a product of “fanciful imagination”.
