SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) — The Iowa Lakes Corridor is offering $6,000 grants to recent college graduates who grew up in northwest Iowa as part of an effort to bring young professionals back to the region.
The grants can be used for student loans, rent or mortgage payments by applicants who meet specific criteria.
“The initiative is a workforce recruitment tool to help incentivize recent college grads into returning back to the Iowa Lakes Corridor region to live, work, and start a family,” said Trevor Smith, senior vice president of economic development.
Applicants must have graduated from a local high school, earned a college degree within the last five years, and accepted a full-time job in Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson or Emmet Counties.
The grant money will be distributed over four years
