Delhi woke up to yet another day of unhealthy air quality with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 329 this morning at 7 am, according to data sourced from the Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS) of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. At this level, the city’s air quality falls firmly within the ‘Very Poor’ category.

Across the national capital, dense smog and lingering particulate matter reduced visibility in several areas. Meteorological conditions, including low wind speeds and calm atmospheric mixing, continued to trap pollutants close to the surface, preventing their dispersion.

Authorities have flagged that many parts of the city recorded AQI values well above safe limits, with PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations remaining high.
