A British backpacker has been jailed for four years following a fatal e-scooter collision in Australia claimed the life of a father-of-two.

Alicia Kemp, from Redditch, Worcestershire , received her sentence at Perth District Court in Western Australia on Friday, December 12, after being convicted of dangerous driving causing death whilst under the influence.

The 25 year old was above the Australian legal alcohol limit when she struck Thanh Phan in Perth on May 31. She was 24 years old when the incident occurred.

Mr Phan succumbed to his injuries in hospital several days afterwards, having sustained a fatal brain haemorrhage.

The psychology graduate was reportedly transporting a passenger, aged 26, who sustained a broken nose and skull fracture in the crash, reports B
