INDIANAPOLIS — Snow crews are already locked in on road treatment as a third round of central Indiana's latest snow event makes landfall.
Indy DPW and INDOT say they've been out since Wednesday, pre-treating the roads and keeping ahead of what is the start of an icy weekend.
"All of our snow fight drivers working since 11 o'clock Wednesday morning," said DPW spokesperson Adam Pinsker. "They've been preparing now for more than 24 hours, almost 36 hours."
Pinsker said crews started early by pretreating bridges and overpasses first, which are typically the spots that freeze fastest.
But with temperatures on track to drop to record lows this weekend, crews are now on rotating 12-hour shifts.
