Jammu & Kashmir: According to Vedic astrology, marriage and other auspicious ceremonies are performed only when the planets Jupiter (Guru) and Venus (Shukra) are in their rising phase (Uday). In this regard, Mahant Rohit Shastri, Jyotishacharya and President of Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, stated that the rising of Guru and Shukra is considered essential for conducting marriages and all auspicious rituals.
