The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday filed a charge sheet in the case of the death of Assam singer Zubeen Garg in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Guwahati. The charge sheet, spanning approximately 3,500 pages, and related evidence were brought to the court in four trunks. The nine-member SIT arrived at the court in a convoy of six vehicles. So far, 7 people have been arrested in this case.

According to the lawyers, the charge sheet accuses Shyamkanu Mahanta, the main organiser of the North East India Festival, and three others of Zubeen's murder.

Meanwhile, Zubeen Garg's cousin and suspended police officer Sandipan Garg charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder in SIT chargsheet.
