Prominent defence lawyer Deepak Paradkar lived a lavish lifestyle — boasting sports cars, designer clothing and luxury watches — that far exceeds his claim that $5-million bail amounts to “all his assets,” Crown prosecutors argued Thursday.

Paradkar is facing extradition to the United States for his alleged role as a lawyer to Ryan Wedding , the fugitive former Olympic snowboarder whom American authorities describe as the modern-day Pablo Escobar. Authorities say Paradkar was compensated for his work through cash drops and luxury items, including watches.

In cross-examination on Thursday, his wife Mandy detailed how she helped Paradkar’s law firm with accounting and bookkeeping for many years before retiring in 2024 following a cancer diagnosis.
