Delaware's Acting U.S. Attorney is resigning from the position she has held since July.
The former Delaware Republican Party chair and two-time candidate for statewide office said in a statement originally shared on social media that she cannot allow the office to become "a political football." She faulted a "blue slip" tradition in the U.S. Senate, and said Democratic Senators Chris Coons and Lisa Blunt Rochester would not support her.
Murray added she will continue to serve in the U.S. Department of Justice in a different capacity. Her First Assistant, Ben Wallace, will replace her as U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware.
