YOUNGSTOWN - Depending on who you believe, a double stabbing at a home on Youngstown’s South Side came either after a confrontation over stolen food, or two roommates smoking crack.
Joanne Dixon, 63, and Anthony Rogers, 50, were scheduled for arraignment Friday in Youngstown Municipal Court. Court dockets show both are currently facing first-degree misdemeanor assault charges related to the violence at their home on Willis Ave.
The incident began Thursday afternoon when Dixon allegedly confronted Rogers, accusing him of repeatedly stealing her food. Dixon told police she went to Rogers' bedroom to demand he stop taking her groceries. According to Dixon, the confrontation turned violent when Rogers slammed her head against a wall, dragged her down the stairs, and cut her with a knife.
