Police have charged a man with two counts of murder following a double homicide that took place in the Rabbittown neighbourhood of St. John’s in early December.
In a statement Friday afternoon, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said they arrested 41-year-old Matthew Delaney Thursday around 6:45 p.m. N.T. in the Water Street West area of downtown St. John’s.
On Dec. 1 two men, a 38-year-old and a 53-year-old, were found dead inside a home on Aldershot Street.
The statement said police, alongside the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, determined the deaths were homicides and they appeared to have been stabbed.
