LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown, a nationwide campaign aimed at reducing the number of drunk and impaired drivers on roadways throughout Lancaster County.
The sheriff’s office will increase the number of deputies, in marked patrol cars, during evening and night hours throughout the enforcement period.
Additional enforcement begins Friday and continues through Dec. 27. The additional deputies will concentrate their efforts on traffic law violations and detecting of impaired driving violations.
Overtime for the additional deputies working during the crackdown will be paid through a mini-grant funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
