CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS, Ga. — The city of Chattahoochee Hills made a $2.5 million acquisition this month of a nearly 80-acre parcel to expand Campbellton Park , further integrating it into the ambitious Chattahoochee RiverLands project.
The acquisition was aided with $1.9 million from a Georgia Department of Natural Resources program, the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program, as well as "matching contributions made possible by a generous land donation from one of the property owners."
It was announced December 2 by the Trust for Public Land, the nonprofit group behind the RiverLands project.
A release said the acquisition will grow Campbellton Park from 18 to more than 95 acres.
