FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSIL) -- Gov. Andy Beshear praised Kentuckians for their generosity during the Kentucky State Police's annual "Cram the Cruiser" food drive. This year, the drive collected 306,961 pounds of food.
“Kentuckians always show up for one another, and this year’s response to the ‘Cram the Cruiser’ drive is another powerful example of that spirit,” Beshear said. “These donations will help thousands of families enjoy a more hopeful holiday, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who contributed.”
All 16 KSP posts participated in the initiative, gathering essential non-perishable goods for local shelters and food banks. Items included canned vegetables, soups, pasta, and peanut butter.
KSP Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr. highlighted the significance of keeping donations local.
