All parks and roads closed due to recent flooding have been reopened except the Daybreak Park Boat Launch in Battle Ground, which will remain closed, according to a Thursday news release from Clark County.
According to the National Weather Service, another atmospheric river expected early next week brings the threat of more flooding.
Floodwaters from the swollen East Fork Lewis River “significantly damaged” the boat launch this week, the news release stated. The river peaked at 20.34 feet (minor flood stage) at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, measured at the Heisson gauge, according to the Portland office of the National Weather Service.
For comparison, the East Fork Lewis River’s previous peak was 15.59 feet on Nov. 28, and its highest recorded level was just over 25 feet during the 1996 floods.
