IRON MOUNTAIN — The AARP Foundation and the Dickinson County Library are looking to expand their team of volunteers for the upcoming tax season by recruiting individuals interested in tax preparation.
Tax-Aide is an AARP Foundation program with a mission to provide high-quality, free income tax preparation to low and moderate income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 50 and older.
Last year, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers helped more than 70,000 Michigan residents file their federal and state tax returns. The program is offered at nearly 200 sites in Michigan — six in the Upper Peninsula — including senior centers, libraries and other convenient locations.
