A Fremont family is calling on drivers to pay better attention on the roads after a man was hit while crossing the street.
Fremont police said they found 19-year-old Chance Christensen unconscious in the road Tuesday night. Police arrested the driver accused of hitting him on Wednesday.
Christensen's brother, Sean Brewer, said he was in shock because just minutes before the crash, he was at his house.
"We're sitting here talking. He went up, saw his cousin upstairs, and then he left. He said, stay safe, and he loves us. And we told him the same," Brewer said. "He was walking across the street and somebody ran the red light at the stoplight. I got a call from my friend that lives over there saying, your brother was just struck by a car."
