The cold wave sweeping across Odisha has disrupted normal life, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the chill will continue for another week.

According to IMD reports, temperatures have plummeted across coastal, western, northern, and southern Odisha. Koraput’s Damanjodi recorded a minimum temperature of 3°C, while G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district registered 3.1°C. In Daringbadi, heavy frost accompanied the biting cold.

The forecast indicates that hilly regions may see temperatures drop below 5°C, while other parts of the state will also experience a sharp fall in mercury. Dense fog is expected to affect visibility along national highways.
