WHAT: While temperatures reached the 40s earlier Saturday, they dropped below freezing overnight, setting up perfect conditions for snow to stick to surfaces and roads.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Central and Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore from midnight Saturday to around 10 a.m. Sunday.

WHEN: By the 10 p.m. hour, snow was falling north and west of the Interstate 95 corridor, started to accumulate in Baltimore County’s Hereford Zone, while it was just rain to the south and east. But that all changes to all snow past midnight.
