Over the festive period there will likely be more nights out and busier nights in Glasgow, with the rise of people there could also unfortunately be a rise in crime.

Police Scotland Greater Glasgow are advising people to keep their safety a "top priority" during this period by planning how to get home, sticking with friends and to not do drugs , with police saying "there is no safe way to do so".

Police also gave advice to the public about meeting new people saying: "Meeting new people through dating sites and speed dating is now very popular. Take care as not everyone will be who they say they are.

"There are risks. This includes your immediate personal safety, stalking or harassment or being exploited financially."
