A dozen firearms were seized from a U.S. boater who entered Canada at the Port Weller marina in August.

The St. Catharines incident is one of several firearms seizures noted in Canada Border Services Agency’s southern Ontario region enforcement highlights from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31.

A report released this week said CBSA officers in the southern Ontario region seized 352 firearms and more than 5,600 miscellaneous parts for firearms or ammunition magazines, almost 800 prohibited weapons and 424 prohibited devices during that time frame.

The southern Ontario region covers Niagara, Windsor, Sarnia, London and surrounding communities. It provides services at multiple land borders and marine sites.
