MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A vehicle crashed into an apartment building in the 800 block of Alpine Street on Saturday evening, causing extensive structural damage and injuring four people, according to emergency responders.

The initial collision, reported at 5:59 p.m., involved a vehicle striking both the building and a pedestrian. A second vehicle slid down the hill and crashed at the scene minutes later at 6:06 p.m.

Monongalia County 911 operators had no further information about the extent of the injuries.

Emergency medical services arrived to find significant damage to the structure. The Morgantown Fire Department later determined the structure was stable despite the extent of the impact. Four patients were being transported as of 6:12 p.m.
