HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - In the Girls WYMT Food City Mountain Basketball Championship North Laurel faced Hazard and won, 62-29.
The Lady Bulldogs went on an 8-2 run to start the game, and had an 11-8 lead by the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Lady Jaguars 16-5, which gave North Laurel a 24-16 lead going into the break.
North Laurel would add more to their lead in the third quarter, outscoring Hazard, 20-9.
The Lady Jags had three players score in the double-digits. Mariella Claybrook had 20 points on the night, Laylee Phillips had 13, and Paisley Kilburn had 10.
North Laurel has earned back-to-back Mountain Classic titles, and has made the championship game in the last four WYMT Food City Mountain Basketball Classics.
