The Executive Board of the Nebraska Legislature met on Saturday, and they unanimously voted to expel State Sen. Dan McKeon after criminal charges had been brought against him in Lancaster County.

"After reviewing the circumstances, the Executive Board concluded that the decision was necessary in light of a demonstrated pattern of behavior by Senator McKeon and not in response to a single isolated incident. Board members emphasized that the action was taken to protect the integrity of the Nebraska Legislature and to uphold the standards expected of its members," said a news release from the board meeting.
