Many people in North Jersey woke up to a measurable amount of snow on Dec. 14 for the first time this winter.

Parts of the region, including Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Union, Essex, Morris, Sussex and Warren counties were forecasted for up to 6 inches of snow , according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS said to plan on slippery road conditions where areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
