A widespread winter storm is expected to hit New Jersey Saturday night and could drop 1 to 6 or more inches of snow across the state, forecasters say.

Winter weather advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service for 19 counties and a winter storm warning has been issued for parts of three counties expected to get the highest snowfall totals.

The highest snowfall totals are likely in a wide band through southern and central New Jersey, the weather service said.
