PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Hikers rejoice! One of Phoenix’s most popular trails reopened on Sunday after being closed for weeks due to repairs .
Echo Canyon Trail at Camelback Mountain was closed while crews stabilized multiple boulders that eroded and loosened during storms that moved through the area in October .
Since then, the city worked with geotechnical and civil engineers, who determined that stabilizing the boulders with expanding grout would best separate them.
“We appreciate the community’s patience while our teams completed this critical safety work,” Cynthia Aguilar, Parks and Recreation Department Director, said in a written statement. “Echo Canyon is one of our most popular and challenging trails, and this work was essential to ensuring visitors can enjoy it with confiden
