GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A former Gaston County detention officer was arrested Wednesday after being accused of falsifying his time records while on the sheriff’s office staff.

The Gaston County Sheriff’s Office says the State Bureau of Investigation was called last summer to look into Ryan Lamar Poole allegedly receiving pay for non-worked hours. A year later on Monday, July 14, the case was presented to a Gaston County grand jury, where a true bill of indictment was issued for Poole. He was charged with felony obtaining property by false pretense.

Wednesday, NCSBI personnel served Poole, 52, with the order for arrest. He received a $10,000 unsecured bond. A trial date has not been set.
