ABC News is reporting an arrest has been made in the killing of Sunshine "Sunny" Stewart, the Maine woman who was found dead two weeks ago after she went paddleboarding on a pond.

An official familiar with the investigation told ABC News that the Maine State Police arrested a male suspect from Maine, who was in the Crawford Pond area to spend summer vacation time with his family.

Stewart, 48, of Tenants Harbor, went out on Crawford Pond by herself the evening of July 2. When she did not return hours later, someone called police to report her missing.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office and the Union Fire Department were the first agencies involved in the search effort, and Maine game wardens were eventually called in to assist.
