ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A Georgetown man has been sentenced for unauthorized removal of archeological resources and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook.
Judge Dee D. Drell sentenced Roy Everett Jordan, Jr., 57, to 24 months in prison for the archeological charge and another 6 months for the firearm charge. Following 30 months in prison, Jordan will be on supervised release for two years.
Back in 2022, it was discovered that Jordan had taken arrowheads and pottery pieces from archaeological sites in the Kisatchie National Forest in Grant Parish. He made posts on social media about his archaeological finds
