MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An off-duty Border Patrol agent was shot at a park in New York City, sources told PIX11 News.
The 42-year-old man was shot just before midnight at Fort Washington Park, according to the NYPD. He was rushed to an area hospital in stable condition.
Sources told PIX11 News the man is a Border Patrol agent who was off duty at the time of the shooting. He shot back at his attackers, sources said.
Dozens of police and detectives scanned the area, looking for clues and pieces of evidence. Video from overnight shows what appears to be the gun recovered from the scene.
Customs and Border Protection did not immediately respond to PIX11's request for comment.
