SOUTH OZONE PARK, Queens (PIX11) — Police in Queens, New York, are on the hunt for a man they say set a dog on fire, according to authorities.

Officials say the man was seen dragging a motionless dog near 128 Street and 116 Avenue in South Ozone Park on Thursday around 4:45 a.m.

The man was then seen pouring an accelerant on the dog and then lighting it on fire, police report.

Investigators say they're looking for a man last seen wearing a maroon sweatshirt with a "POLO" logo in tan lettering across the chest, gray pants and a light brown "MCM" backpack.

The ASPCA has been notified and the NYPD Animal Cruelty Squad is investigating.
