SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Shreveport man was arrested Sunday night after two people say he pointed a rifle at them while they were driving.
The gun turned out not to be real. It was an airsoft rifle. Regardless, Louisiana law makes it illegal to place others in fear of being harmed.
"Given the realistic appearance of the weapon and the public nature of the incident, officers determined that the fear instilled in the victims warranted criminal charges," Shreveport police Cpl. Chris Bordelon said.
So, that landed Aaron Heins, 42, in the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.
